Countryfile Cameras come to Corrymoor. Look out for the programme on February 5th at 7pm
BBC 1's Countryfile filmed us in 1989 (we think) when we were just beginning our venture into Angora goats and we had an interesting and entertaining day last week, when they returned to Corrymoor to film the goats and socks as part of a programme about life and work in the Blackdown Hills. Corrymoor Farm nestles in the southeast of the Blackdown Hills AONB and the countryside surrounding the farm is very typical of the area. The Blackdown Hills, often thought of as the Westcountry's hidden gem, form a relatively isolated landscape on the Devon and Somerset border. Characterised by a patchwork of fields, steep ridges, valleys and springs, this beautiful area is home to valuable habitats which exist alongside living, working communities. Watch the programme, which is due to be broadcast on Sunday 5th February at 7 pm, to learn more about the Blackdown Hills and catch a glimpse of the Corrymoor Goats and socks.

Open Weekend raises money for Stockland Village Hall and Shelterbox
Many thanks to all of you who came to our Open Weekend at the beginning of November and made it such a jolly affair. We were incredibly lucky with the weather (again) and had two lovely days. Our goats and farm looked at their best in the Autumn sunshine. The seconds' boxes were virtually empty by the end of the weekend and hopefully, most of you managed to find the perfect socks for all your family and friends. The Stockland Village Hall Fundraising team worked tirelessly before and during the Open Weekend to feed and water all our visitors. Many thanks to them. This year they raised £680 for the ongoing refurbishment of Stockland Village Hall. The charity Shelterbox, the international disaster relief charity, was also with us and showed us just what goes into a Shelterbox. They raised £206.84 through donations alone.

Corrymoor Socks on the catwalk in Paris
We were very excited and not a little chuffed at the sight of the black Corrymoor Eventers appearing as part of Hakaan Yildrim's Autumn 2011 collection at the Paris Fashion Week at the beginning of March. The Turkish-born designer Hakaan Yildirim won the French ANDAM award for new talent last year, and has fast become the exciting name in the world of fashion. We keep telling the world that Corrymoor socks are for "every walk of life"... it seems that even the "catwalk" in Paris is possible!
